Ms Featherstone said the first serious case review into the death of Baby P has been shown to be “incompetent or at worst a cover up” by the second review released today.
She said she hadn’t read the second serious case review in detail yet but her first reaction was that it showed the first to be “incompetent or at worst a cover up”.
She added that that she was struck by ”the sheer casualness of every individual or agency involved” in the Baby P case.
“I was quite shocked to find that those who were trained to challenge accepted that which was said.
“Those working with babies at risk have got to understand the child comes first. I’m incredulous that the social workers were so willing to take at face value what was told to them.”
She added that Haringey had “a rotten culture” and that needs to change.
